Charles was a member of St. John UCC in Fairview Heights, IL and a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to and following his time in the service, he played with the Black Knights Drum & Bugle Corps. While in their youth, Charlie coached his boys’ baseball teams. In his free time he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was an avid Cardinals fan.
Mr. Bogner was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Lula, nee Sisk, Bogner.
He is survived by his wife, Jill A., nee Grosch, Bogner, whom he married on September 26, 1964; two sons, Daniel (Suzanne) Bogner of Edwardsville, IL and Erik (Jacque) Bogner of Chatham, IL; three grandchildren, Marissa Bogner, Ethan Bogner, and Hazel Bogner; a brother, Paul Yeske of Belleville; two sisters, Martha (Terry) Franceschini of Sorrento, FL and Susan (Gary) Gallandat of New Braunfels, TX; a sister-in-law, Sue (Leonard) Duff of Lenexa, KS; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home with Pastor Rosemary Captain officiating.
Interment: Burial will be on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:30 am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
