Charles Edgar Jones

Charles Edgar Jones,Sr., 69, of Cahokia, Illinois, born April 21, 1941 in East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Charles was a retired truck driver from the United States Postal Service in St. Louis, Missouri, a volunteer fireman for the Midway Fire Department, a Untied States Army veteran and a member of the American Legion, Charles was a loving and caring husband for 40 years and a devoted father and grandfather. He had a deep faith and found God when he became a member of the Little Oak Baptist Church, Lebanon, Illinois.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Herman and Reha Francis, nee Cox, Jones, Sr.; brother, Leroy Herbert Jones; father in law, Guadalupe Lupe Martinez; father and mother in law, Joe and Margie, nee Mowery, Villa; and a sister in law Frances Jones.

Surviving are his loving wife Pamela Sue nee Martinez, Jones; children, Mario (Melissa) Jones of Sparta, Illinois, Deanna Jones (Finance Joshua Erb) of Cahokia, Illinois, Charles Jones, Jr., David Jones and Reha Jones; grandchildren, Geddy Jones, Ian Jones, Mason Jones, Tyler Jones, Isabella Jones, William Jones and Mya Erb; Sister, Margaret (Louis) Schaefer of Centerville, Illinois; brother, Edgar Jones of Fairview Heights, Illinois and one great grandchild.

Visitation: friends may call from 4:00 Pm until 8:00 Pm, on Friday, January 14, 2011, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois

Funeral Service: Services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 am from Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home with Pastor Orville S. Lester, Sr., officiating.

Interment: Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois
