Helen Emma Augusta Meyer

Helen graduated from Marissa Township High School in 1934. She was retired from Industrial Risk Insurers at their St. Louis Office where she worked as an Assistant Underwriter until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of and Elder of Trinity United Church of Christ in Belleville, a member of and past president of Trinity Women's Fellowship member of the Men's and Ladies Fellowship of the church and past president of the Belle-Clair chapter of the American Business Women's Association. She was a member of various card clubs and an expert Canasta player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Meyer whom she married in 1938 and who died in 1968, a daughter, Kathleen Ann Meyer who died in 1987, her parents Ernest and Anna Kinzel, nee Vollmer of Marissa, Ill., and a sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Robert Carmack of Denver, and two brothers Norman and Dorris Kenzel of Marissa and a sister who died in infancy and a brother-in-law Robert Meyer of Santa Cruz, Ca.

Surviving are a son Steven Meyer of Chula Vista, Ca., a daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Marty Barski of Crystal Lake, Ill., and a sister-in-law Anita Meyer of Santa Cruz, Ca., and six grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) McKay, Julie Meyer, Eric (Sasha) Meyer, Maria Meyer, Wendi (Andrew) Rosulek, and Sara Barski; six great grandchildren, Timmy, Miranda, Josh, Alex, Aiden, and Bleu. Also nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and many friends.

Funeral Services: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 10 am, at Trinity United Church of Christ with interment following at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
