Herbert retired from Spectralite Consortium as Chief of Labs, Herbert was an avid golfer, member of the moose lodge, Swansea, Illinois,

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Valeda, nee Loecher, Evans; Son in Law, Robert Tribout, Sister and brother in laws, Mary Ellen (Howard) McCandless, Bridget (Don) Case and Dodie (Warren) Schulte.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Phyllis, nee Busch, Evans; Children, David (Carey) Evans of St. Louis, Missouri, Jane Tribout of Belleville, Illinois, Janet Weier of Belleville, Illinois and Carla (Mike) Becherer, of Columbia, Illinois; grandchildren, Jacob (Jenn) Evans of NATO Forces, Europe, Becky (Jeff) Schlecht of St. Louis, Missouri, Scott (Katie) Tribout of Fergerson, Missouri, Victoria Tribout of Belleville, Illinois, Kristie (Mike) Hogue of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Clay Weier of Belleville, Illinois, Kelsey, Steven, Veronica Becherer of Columbia, Illinois; great grand children, Isabel, Valeda and Shepherd Evans, Melissa, Jack and Bobby Tribout, Kylie Carter and Camden Hogue; niece, Sandy (Ken) Hildebrandt of O’Fallon, Illinois; Sister in Law, Sally (Jim) Loechner and a host of other nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

The Family sent the greatest appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Southern Illinois, the Danita Dialysis Center, Dr. Dothager, Dr. Koch and Dr. Despain. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Krumeich officiating.

Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois
