He was a member of the Belleville/Swansea Moose Lodge #1221. He worked as a truck driver for MOPAC truck lines and was a member of Teamster Local #600. Jack was also a veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Guenther.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred L. (nee White) Slaner; son, Robert C (Michelle) Slaner of O’Fallon, IL; daughter, Paula (Bob) Boxley of Waterloo, IL; grandchildren, Wendy Branstetter, Thomas Boxley, Shelby, Sidney, and Dalton Slaner; great grandchildren, Justin and Logan Branstetter; and a sister, Donna Guenther.
