Jack Lee Story

He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and S.I. U Carbondale with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. Most of his teaching career was at Wirth Jr. High in Cahokia, Illinois.

Jack was a member and deacon at First Christian Church in Belleville. He enjoyed photography, travel, collecting stamps, participating in trivia nights and being with family and friends. He will be remembered for his quick wit and easy smile.

Jack was proceeded in death by his parents Roy and Corinne (Scott) Story and a sister in infancy.

Surviving are his wife Martha Story (Tripp); children Kevin (Joan) Story of Troy, Mo and their children Justin Story, Austin Story, Nathan Story, Jason Bals and Craig (Tiffany) Bals; Geoff Story of St. Louis, MO and Andrea (Todd) Hilding of St. Petersburg Florida and their son Steven Hilding. Sister Carolyn (Richard) Burgin of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and 5 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at First Christian Church, 5929 Old St. Louis Road, Belleville, IL. Funeral services will at First Christian Church in Belleville on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
