

He was a member of VFW Post 1739, Belleville, IL, American Legion Post 1937, Belleville, IL, and the East Side Mardi Gras Association. James retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 27 years of service, and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was very proud of his military career and serving our country.
James was preceded in death by his parents, George and Tommie, nee Stafford, Markham; son, James Markham; grandchild, Shara Suggs; sisters, Dena Mitchell, and Nellie Markham.
He is survived by his loving children, John (Karen) Suggs III, Becky (Jeff) Clubb, Robert (Cherie) Markham, Jeff (Rocio) Markham, Jamie (Michael) Rose, Michael (Becky Schulte) Markham, Michele (Jason) Glauber; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Harry (Jane) Markham, Rev. Sue Hampton, Betty Gallamore, Jo Ellen Bailey, Bill (Wilma) Markham, Pete (Terethia) Markham, Grayson (Dollie) Markham; sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, 12pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor Wilson Wickiser officiating.
Interment: will be held in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St Louis, MO.
