

Jay was born on July 14, 1968 in Ft. Knox, Kentucky and he is preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie (Smith) Elliott.
Jay is survived by his father, Loren (Kathy) Elliott of Belleville, Illinois; his sister Joy (Colin) Baltz of Millstadt, Illinois; his niece Maggie Baltz of Millstadt, Illinois; his nephew Conor Baltz of Charleston, Illinois; wife Mary (Stremsterfer) Elliott of Pasadena Hills, Missouri; and his son, Robert (“Bobby”) Elliott, of Pasadena Hills.
Jay earned his bachelor’s degree at Millikin University and had been working towards his master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling at Northwestern University.
Jay lived almost twenty years in Chicago, Illinois, working as a paralegal. It was in Chicago that Jay met his wife, Mary, and they were married in 2005. Their son, Bobby, was born in Chicago in 2010. Jay, Mary and Bobby moved to Pasadena HIlls, Missouri, in 2013.
Jay loved being a father and relished his time with his son. He could often be found playing with the PS5 or assembling a Lego set with Bobby. He loved his nieces and nephews and looked forward every year to spending time with them and his extended family at the beach in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Jay was a fierce advocate for the Marfan Foundation and used his knowledge of Marfan Syndrome to educate others who were recently diagnosed. He was a faithful servant of God and was an active member of The Gathering in Clayton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
There will be a Memorial Graveside Service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, Illinois, with a Memorial Service following at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at The Gathering, 101 N. Bemiston Avenue, Clayton, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jay’s honor to the Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050, www.marfan.org/donate.
