Belleville, Illinois died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Garden Place Millstadt.
Joan was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Belleville, Il. She was one of ten
children born and raised in Belleville. Joan was a wife, mother, grandmother and
great grandmother. While her primary efforts were raising her family, she loved
playing bridge, poker, and dominoes, belonged to a bowling league and even tried
golf for a year. She was an avid Jeopardy fan and loved the baseball, Cardinals. She
also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard (Barney) Geolat, parents Frank
and Fannie, nee Loyet, Biver and granddaughter, Kelly, nee Burk, Nobbe.
Joan is survived by five children, Cindy (Buster) Dela Roche, Peggy (James Webster)
Geolat, Nancy (Randy) Burk, Patti Geolat and Ben (Carol) Geolat, seven
grandchildren, Todd (Kari) Burk, Tyler (Amy) Burk, Ryan (Jordan) Geolat, Kyle (Ellie)
Geolat, Scott (Hannah) Geolat, Lena,nee Benoit, (Michael) Quill, Sophia Benoit and
five great grandchildren, Emerson Geolat, Caleb Geolat, Will Burk, Nate Burk and
Arlo Quill, one sister Alice Hasenstab, two brothers-in-law Norman Geolat, Joe
(Borgie) Geolat and one sister-in-law Janice Geolat, along with many nieces,
nephews and numerous other friends and relatives.
