John Charles Poole

John was born February 25, 1963 in Bloomington, IL to Leonard and Gwendolyn (DeRousse) Poole. They preceded him in death.

He married Lizabeth “Beth” Guetterman on February 12, 1988 in Belleville, IL; she survives and resides in Belleville.

Also surviving are his two sons, Chris Poole (fiancée, Crystal Geiger) of Arnold, MO and Chaz Poole (Kimberlee) of Belleville, IL; grandsons, Brentley Poole, Garrett Poole and a grandson Benjamin Charles, arriving March 2025; siblings, Jennie Poole of Belleville, IL, Julie Poole of North Carolina and William Poole (Monica) of Jacksonville, IL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

John proudly owned and operated Poole Construction, which originated in Jacksonville, IL and later relocated to Belleville, IL.

He loved refurbishing cars, going to car shows with his sons and watching NASCAR on Sundays. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Belleville, IL. Above all else, John loved his family dearly and always enjoyed their time together. He will never be forgotten.

A visitation for John will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

A memorial service will follow the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
