Mr. Leroy F. Edwards

Leroy F. Edwards of Waterloo, Illinois passed on to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2010. Age 69. Mr. Edwards was a retired Administrator for Washington High Schools, Washington, Illinois and a former Secondary School Teacher and Coach at Melvin and Sibly, Melvin, Illinois. Mr. Edwards attended Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois and the University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois. He was a member of the 1956 Baseball Championship Team for the American Legion Stockham Post. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards were married on June 10, 1960 at Riverview Gardens Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri they were happily married for 49 years. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents Leroy Ellis and Delphia Irene (nee Lamb) Edwards. Surviving are his loving wife Dorothy Jean (nee Holmes) Edwards, Daughters Kathy (Dean) Emmert and Sharon (Jeff) Kitterman., Grand Children, Keegan Emmert, Mackenzie Emmert and Olivia Kitterman, Sister Pat Seabaugh, Sister In Law Pat (Harold) Twellman and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, Illinois with the Pastor Dennis Jones officiating. Family and Friends may call upon the family form 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place following the service in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory Belleville, Illinois.
