

Mary Eileen Winn, nee Henson, 81, of Swansea, Ill., born Feb. 15, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.Mrs. Winn was a member of LIFT and of Swansea Church, 292 Frank Scott Parkway, Fairview Heights, Ill. She headed the Swansea Food Pantry. She was the former owner and operator of the Mary Winn's Beauty Salon in Cahokia, Ill. Mary was an avid Cardinals fan, loved gardening and fishing. She was one of God's faithful servants.She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Winn; parents, Jesse L. and Jennie M., nee Meldrum, Henson; a sister and two brothers, Willadean, nee Henson, Nolan, David A Henson and Jesse L. Henson.Surviving are her children, Terry, nee Winn, (Don) Hosutt of Des Peres, Mo., Diane, nee Winn (Greg) Narez of Columbia, Ill., John M. (Anne Welle) Winn of Troy, Ill., and Sue, nee Winn, (Ron) VonThun of Callaway, Fla.; grandchildren, Christie Lynn Narez of Belleville, Ill., and Gregory "Sean" Narez of Millstadt, Ill.; sister, Jennie, nee Henson (Paul) Weillmunster of New Baden, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Helen Fleming of New Athens, Ill., and Irene Henson of Los Angeles, Calif.; many cousins, nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home, 949 County Road 1300 N., Carmi, Ill. 62821.Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at the funeral home with Pastor Wilson Wickiser and Pastor David Gray officiating.
