

Mr. Nesbit proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Laborers’ International Union Local 459 for 67 years. Norman was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Paderborn, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, but his most precious moments were those spent with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Viola, nee Stinett, Nesbit; his son, Jeffrey Norman Nesbit, who died January 7, 2017; his three brothers, Allan Nesbit, Leo Nesbit and William Nesbit; and his five sisters, Margaret Daniels, Marie Schlosser, Irene Perry, Virginia Anderson and Edna Woodring.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Loretta, nee Swafford, Nesbit; his daughter, Michelle (Matthew) Killebrew; his three grandchildren, Zachary Killebrew, Emily Killebrew and Aaron Killebrew, all of Smithton, Illinois; his sisiter-in-law, Pat Nesbit; a special friend for many years, Robbie Schorr; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may visit from 10-12 p.m., Monday, May 29, 2017 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Funeral services to follow at noon in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Voelker officiating. Interment in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
