Phyllis Evans

Phyllis S Evans, nee Busch 84, of Swansea, Illinois, born December 14, 1929 in Buckner, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 surrounded by her family at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois. Phyllis was a Registered Nurse and worked at various health care organizations in the Belleville area.

She was a devoted member of the former Hope Church and a member of various card clubs and book clubs.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Evans, her parents, Owen and Stella Busch, son-in-law, Robert Tribout, sisters and brother in laws, Mary Ellen (Howard) McCandless, Bridget (Don) Case, Dodie (Warren) Schulte and brother Owen.

Surviving are her children, David (Carey) Evans of St. Louis, Missouri, Jane Tribout of Belleville, Illinois, Janet Weier of Belleville, Illinois and Carla (Mike) Becherer, of Columbia, Illinois; grandchildren, Maj Jacob (Jenn) Evans, USMC, Camp Pendleton, California, Becky (Jeff) Schlecht of St. Louis, Missouri, Scott (Katie) Tribout of St. Louis, Missouri, Victoria Tribout of Belleville, Illinois, Kristie (Mike) Hogue of Smithton, Illinois, Clay (Cait) Weier of Silvis, Illinois, Kelsey Becherer of Springfield, Missouri, Steven and Veronica Becherer of Columbia, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Isabel, Valeda and Shepherd Evans, Melissa, Jack, Bobby and Rory Tribout, Kylie Carter and Camden Hogue, and Jack Schlecht; niece Sandy (Ken) Hildebrandt of O'Fallon, Illinois; Sister Sally (Jim) Loechner and a host of other nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

The Family would like to give special thanks to the staff on Four South at Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care of Mom as well as the Hospice of Southern Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Phyllis’ memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Siteman Cancer Center Patient Care Fund. Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral services: Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Krumeich officiating.

Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois
