I only knew Rainy for a short time,  but during that time she was very important to me. She helped me through a very difficult time and I don’t know what I would have done without her. I didn’t not know she passed until today. The world lost a good soul. 

She was a childhood friend who I didn’t know had passed.  My prayers go out to the family!   Know that she was an awesome person in every way and she positively impacted many people!!

All my prayers go out Mike,Tim,the boys,and Linda Lane. Rainy will be missed terribly . So sorry for the loss of such a wonderful mother and friend.

My prayers go out to you all. You will always have the memories of Rainy. I remember working with Rainy at the Belleville Journal in 1995 and 1996. She was a sweet person and I will never forget her.

I will give the Bargers' all the thoughts and prayers I can muster. Jack is a good friend and an even greater person, and I can't imagine what him and his relatives are going through. I wish you all a happy life knowing Rainy is at peace.

My dearest Rainy my deepest sympathy and prayers are going out to your family and friends. Even though our friendship only lasted a short couple of years and am no where near as close to you as others however, we had some unforgettable moments and they were full of laughter and joy and you were amazing in helping me grieve through my losses. Fly high sweet angel, god speed, keep a close eye on us. You will be immensely missed and never forgotten. Rest in sweet paradise my dear friend.

Rainy, my memories of you go back to kindergarten.  You were a ray of sunshine in the Class of 1985 at Cathedral. I have so many wonderful memories of those grade school years that we were inseparable.   I remember entire weekends spent at your grandma's house up on the hill, laughing, running around outside and singing "Jessie's Girl" to the Rick Springfield poster you had in your room. I remember playing Barbies for hours in that huge formal living room that no one ever used.  I remember weekend nights running around Panorama Lanes while Grams worked.  I remember weekends spent at Freedom Farm with the Malone's.   I remember your mom Linda and the enigma that she was.  She was so beautiful. I saw firsthand how much you loved and then missed her when she was gone too soon.

We went separate ways in high school, but our friendship remained.  When we met up again at Mom's Day Out and Queen of Peace school, it was like we hadn't spent any time apart.  I was so happy that you had FOUR kids. Can you believe it?   I never would have guessed it, but it always made me happy to know you would never be alone again.  

When my parents passed away, I loved that you were one of the few people that would speak of them as though they were still here.  I loved that about you.  You always brought up a fond memory of them that left me thinking about that memory for days.

You and Grams were very special people in my life. You will always be held in my heart and I will always love you both.  I'm so happy that you are finally with Grams and your mom. 

P.S.  I never got a chance to pass this on to you in person, but Avery has always said that Henry is the nicest boy in her class.  To me, that is the highest compliment a parent can receive about her child.  You did good.

I started work at a newspaper in Belleville when I met Rainy Day Tofpi, a beacon of generous laughter in human form. She consistently showed up to dreary office work with full makeup on just to feel good/confident (so far as I know). One day, I had been listening to the radio on my way in. When she arrived and started work some time later, she was still smiling and bubbly as ever, despite the news I'd heard. I walked up to inform her as gently as I could that Jerry Garcia had passed away. The change of expression on her face said it all  she had not known and was now devastated. I felt so badly for her, but it had been important to have her find out about his passing while surrounded by support people like her work friends considering her immense appreciation of his work.

She eventually returned to her naturally effervescent self and made gently-teasing jokes with nearly everyone at that location on North Illinois Street. After we parted ways, we met by accident years later in a retail store. I had recognized her voice before I saw her and we said hello without much else to share but that I had met her small son on that occasion. He was a delight and she looked radiant guiding him along.

I'm so sorry for her passing. As little as we had in connection together, I will miss the fact that she is no longer here for everyone she had an even stronger bond with, especially her children. She made a lovely difference in my life for a short time. I thank her for that and for the wonderful memories of her laughter I retain. Bless you, Rainy Day  blessings to your family and friends.

Tim, Jack, Clyde, Henry and Linda: Our sincerest condolences for the loss of your dear Rainy.  Her beauty, kind heart and contagious smile will forever be in our hearts.

Rainy is now in peace with her mother and grandmother, who she talked about often. Prayers for her children at this difficult time. I always had a laugh when I seen Rainy.

Jack and family, we are so very sorry to hear of your moms passing. Please know you have our deepest condolences. She will always be with you as your guardian angel. All of you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

So very sorry for everyone's loss. Her life was cut way too short. She will be  greatly missed by all. My most sincere sympathy to Tim, Jackson, Clyde, Henry, Mike and Linda Laine. My prayers are with you all.
