Richard “Rich” Chadeayne, 85, of Waterloo (formerly of Millstadt, IL) passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Chadeayne; daughter, Suzanne Chadeayne; brother, George; and sisters, Gloria and Barb.
Rich is survived by his devoted son, Anthony “Tony” (Melissa) Chadeayne; and grandchildren, Meghan, Maxwell, Alyssa, Anthony, and Alexandra Chadeayne; loving companion of 48 years, Lillian “Lill” Tracy and her daughters, Portia and Dorothy; dear friend, uncle, cousin to many.
Rich was a hard-working man who supported his family by working in the petroleum industry. He was a jack of all trades who liked to have fun with his friends and family. He enjoyed taking the kids to haunted houses and amusement parks. Rich was a life time auto enthusiast and was a member of the Piston Pushers and the Lakers Car Club. He was most passionate about Chevys. He and Lill loved to travel and toured all over the country in their fifth wheel together. He also loved music and he and Lill enjoyed many nights at the Muny Theatre together. Rich’s zest for life and warm heart will be missed by all but never forgotten.
Friends may visit on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy W, Belleville, IL 62223. A private committal will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
