Rita M Lemp

Mrs. Rita Maria Melendez Lemp (Pena) 66, of Fairview Heights, IL passed away at her home from a long-term illness, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Craig Lemp, son James E. Tucker (Tessa), of Bowling Green, KY; daughter, Stacey (Travis) Hulman; Grandchildren Justin, Damian (Dakota), Ashton, Haley (Seth) Johnson, and Makayla; Great granddaughter, Myla Knight. Brother, Reynaldo Melendez Pena, Jr; and sister, Jacqueline (Ray) Hassler, nephew, Jerry Yeager and niece, Candace Yeager Brother-in-law Chuck (Kathy) Lemp and sister-in-law Cindy Lemp and Ron Hopkins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Maria James and brother, Ralph L. James. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. What words can you even use to describe a woman that you looked up to your entire life. Her beauty and strength was unmatched by many, she was the best person that she could be.

In her younger years Rita, enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities with her husband, Craig. They also enjoyed evenings playing darts and shooting pool together with friends and family. Rita was a talented seamstress and worked for a local company. She had a green thumb and had many beautiful houseplants to decorate her home. Her loving and caring nature will be sadly missed by her entire family.

Per Rita’s wishes, services will be private, and she will be inurned at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
