Sieglinde "Oma" A. Harper

Oma was born July 19, 1944 in Germany to Siegfried and Maria Kreuzer. She married Lawrence Harper in 1966; he preceded her in death in 2016.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and her beloved donkey, Jack.

Oma is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Scott Oliver) Martin of Columbia, IL; grandchildren, Christopher Buesking, Jonathan “JJ” Martin, Taylor (April) Martin, and Kayla (Kyle) Queen; great-grandchildren, Isla, Anthony, and Ava; siblings, Rosemary (Gebhart), Renate (Ron), Inge (Danny), and Heidi (Floyd); and her dear friends & neighbors, Jan, Ron, and Sherrie.

Oma devoted her life to her loving family as a homemaker. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, who brought her years of treasured memories. She was a talented cook of authentic German food, especially her special cheesecakes. Above all else, her family meant the world to her. Her legacy will live on in their hearts forever.

A visitation for Oma will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. A funeral service will follow the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Final interment will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.

Memorial donations may be made the American Cancer Society or to Wounded Warriors.
