Stephen Mark Whiteside

Stephen was born September 26, 1949 in East St. Louis, IL to Gaylon and Norma “Mickey” (Schneider) Whiteside.

He married Susie Robinson on April 3, 1970 in Belleville, IL. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage. She survives and resides in Granite City, IL.

Also surviving is his daughter, Kim (Joe) Mangiaracino of Granite City, IL; grandchildren, Kody (Micheala) Whiteside, Olivia (Blake) Girasole, and Anna (Ian) Mangiaracino; great-grandchildren, Kody, Kameron, Kyle, Kole, Khaos, Kaysen, Darry and Nova; his sister, Sharon Scharbert of Avon Park, FL, sisters-in-law, Linda Whiteside of Los Angeles, CA and Diane Middleton of Granite City, IL, and brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Becky Robinson of Collinsville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rick Whiteside; brother, David Whiteside, and in-laws, Oliver and Billie Meyer, Bill and Jean Esmon, Bud Robinson and Bob Scharbert.

Steve worked in restaurant management for many years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed shooting pool. He loved his family dearly and cherished their time together. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service for Steve will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

A visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral, from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Final interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
