Vera A. Wiesen

Vera A. Wiesen, nee Denny, 91 born October 30, 1925 in Desoto, Missouri, passed peacefully away surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Four Fountains Nursing Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Vera was employed for many years as a cook in the Belleville at The Capitol Restaurant, 114 Club, and Karen’s Bar and Grill plus the many different name changes at these restaurants.

She enjoyed playing her piano, collecting dolls, and loved all animals.

Mrs. Denny was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wiesen; children, Michael Dinney and Barbara Simonds; her parents, Arthur and Barbara, nee Egner, Denny, her brother, Oscar Denny; and her grandson, Daniel R. Denny.

Surviving are her children, William (Joan) Denny, John Wiesen and Jane Wiesen; grandchildren, Lisa (Christopher) Rolen, Carla (Terry) Gibson, Renee Mezo, Michael (Pamela Juenger) Dinney, Karrie Dinney, Johnny Wiesen, Jennifer (Ken) Wells and Christopher Denny; great grandchildren, Jessicka (Joel) Miller, James (Lauren) Mezo, Tyler Gibson, Chase Gibson, Isabel Wells, Cole Schneider and Connor Schneider; a brother, Daniel (Mary) Denny and her sisters, Diane Daenzer and Jean Ann Sartain; son-in-law, Robert Simonds; daughter-in-law, Karen Dinney; also, survived by extended family and friends.

Visitation: A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 pm. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.
