William was known as the Beloved Neighborhood Mechanic and served as an automotive mechanic for years until his retirement. William was also a retired Local 309 IBEW member.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Don Means and Edna, nee Huber, Means, his wife Gloria J., nee Ward, Means, daughter Marcia Jean Means, and a brother, Don Means.
William leaves to cherish his memory, a special companion, Irma Poore of High Ridge, Missouri, three sons, Don Means of Belleville, Illinois, David (Susan) Means of Freeburg, Illinois, Dennis Means of Freeburg Illinois, six grandchildren Allison, Emily, Julia, Casey, Cody, and Jailynn Means.
