

Anthel (Tony) Walden, Sunrise January 19, 1932 Sunset March 9, 2013, was born in Eaton Ohio and passed away in Kirkland WA. Anthel was born to Albert and Ella Mae (Robinson) Walden. He and his twin were the youngest of 12 children. He is preceded in death by his parents, ten (10) siblings and one grandchild. He is survived by his wife Inez (Landry Tate) Walden, Sister Delores Walden (Eaton Ohio), Children: Lynette Jackson Tate, Diane Mathews, Eddie Tate, Ronald Tate, Karen Tate, Donald Tate, and Obie (Helen) Tate, 13 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Anthel was raised in the AME Church, entered the US Army in 1953 was decorated with a Purple Heart, National Defense Metal Bronze Star and many more metals, fought for our country in the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam War and Retired from the Army with an Honorable Discharge in 1974. He was a dedicated member of VFW and the First African American Veterans Group in Seattle WA. Anthel was a family man who truly loved his wife and family. There is nothing he would not do for anyone. (He also had a deep appreciation for baseball and Charlie Pride). He was genuinely a child of God and was given to all of us for 81 years. He will greatly be missed and will always be in our thoughts with loving memories. He will never be forgotten. The family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to all of you for your prayers, cards, comforting words and flowers.
