Barry C. Rogers, who was born on May 26, 1945 in Miami Florida, passed away August 3, 2015 at his home in Issaquah at the age of 70. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree at Florida State University, Barry proudly served in the Air Force for 20 years flying B-52's and E-3 AWACS and later worked as a training pilot at Boeing for 25 years. He was married to Kathy for 43 years with three wonderful sons, Rich, Jay, and Mark who are married to Taylor, Olivia, and Sarah, respectively. Also, he is blessed with four delightful grandchildren, Ella, Will, Sadie, and Colin. First and foremost, Barry treasured his family and supported his boys in Boy Scouts, Chrysalis, and as a Little League Umpire. His faith and his membership in the Methodist Church were also important to Barry, who told people that he knew throughout his illness, "God had his back."
Two services have been planned to honor Barry. First, he will be interred with full military honors on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at
Tahoma National Cemetery. Then, a memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church of Issaquah. All are welcome to come and celebrate Barry’s life with his family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance or Faith United Methodist Church of Issaquah.
