Betty is survived by her Aunt Eleanor Hammer married to Uncle Ronald Hammer of Minot, North Dakota and Aunt Ardis Hovland who was married to Uncle Lloyd Hovland (deceased) of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota and many extend love ones, cousins, and friends.
Betty L. Edwards Bird was born in Kenmare, North Dakota on October 14th, 1936. She was the oldest daughter of Ray and Alice Edwards of Bowbells, North Dakota. Betty attended Bowbells schools and graduated from Bowbells High School in 1954. She was employed at the ACS Office in Bowbells from 1954 – 1956. Early in 1956 Betty moved to Seattle, Washington where she was employed at the Federal Reserve Bank. Betty held various positions in the banking industry and retired from the Federal Reserve after 39 years of service. It was at the Federal Reserve where Betty met and shared many life-long friendships with her co-workers.
Betty married Frank Bird on June 17, 1962. They shared a marriage of 40 years before Frank’s passing on January 7, 2003. Betty has resided in Bellevue, Washington for nearly 50 years. Although away from Bowbells for many years, Betty’s friendships made during her early years remained strong throughout her entire life.
Betty is survived by her two sisters Sharell Russell and Kathleen deHaan. She is also survived by five nieces and two nephews.
