

Clifford F. Hurlbert was born in Spokane WA in 1924 to Alta M. (Bennett) and Marion F. Hurlbert. He grew up in Western Montana, graduating from Missoula County High School in 1942, then served four years during WWII as a pilot in the Army Air Corps.
He returned to Montana after the war, married Edith L. Bauer of Denver Colorado in 1948. He graduated from Montana State College in Bozeman in 1951 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Cliff was hired by Westinghouse Electric Company in Essington, PA in 1951. He returned to the Pacific Northwest in 1957, to work for the Boeing Commercial Transport Division until retiring in 1988.
Cliff was active in the Eastgate Community Club in the 1960’s. He served as a Fire Commissioner of King County Fire Protection District #14 for 46 years.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and backpacking. He remained active in competitive sports including basketball, softball and volleyball. He was always up for a game of pool. A highlight recently was participating in the Honor Flight to Washington DC.
Cliff is proceeded in death by his wife of 55 years Edith L Hurlbert and Cliff is survived by three daughters, Gail (Scott) Key of Anacortes WA, Lauri (John) Martin of Renton WA, Kendra (Mark-Thomas) of El Paso TX , son Lester Hurlbert of Bellevue WA, a half-sister, Carolyn Williams of Kansas City Kansas, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
