

Dennis' family moved to Seattle, WA in 1959. He attended Roosevelt High School and Seattle Central Community College, where he received a Certificate of Metal Fabrication and an AAS of Marine Engineering. Dennis was in the US Navy from 1969 to 1973 and was stationed on the USS Hector in Vietnam.
On May 19, 1979, Dennis married Julie (Noro). They were married for 45 years. Dennis had several jobs before being hired at the University of Washington as a maintenance mechanic. He retired from the UW in 2011. He also worked for NOAA and commercial fishing in Alaska.
Dennis was an artist, first using mixed media and finally working in oils. He enjoyed cooking and also had a side BBQ catering business with his co-worker from the U W. He also enjoyed traveling, woodworking, boats and water. Dennis was an executive board member of the Washington State Employees Union and was also president of Local 1488.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; his twin brother, Donald (Kim) Sharp; his sisters, Gail Mathison and Carol (Emil) Reddeman; sister-law Betty (Bobby) Kobayashi; and many nieces and nephews.
