Donald Webster Trett

Donald Webster Trett of Bellevue, WA passed away on January 5, 2012. Don was born in 1927 in Lisbon, ND to Lloyd & Irma Trett. He had a younger brother Gerald. Don developed a love of flying at a young age which continued throughout his life. He became a pilot and flight instructor at 17 and joined the Navy right out of high school. He married Shirley Bjerke in 1948 and went back to school. They had two sons while Don was attending college. He graduated from ND State and went to work for Boeing in Wichita where their daughter was born. In 1963 they moved to Seattle where he retired from Boeing in 1992. Don loved boating and taught Power Squadron classes for many years. He was a Boy Scout master and a BS District Commissioner as well as serving on the Bellevue Juvenile Court Conference for over 35 years. He enjoyed his years at the Museum of Flight as both a docent and an employee. He is survived by his three children; Stephen, Greg (Patti) and Suzanne (Eloy) as well as grandchildren Ryan (Lindsey), Amanda, Erik & Kristen and great grandchildren Ryan, Max and Parker. A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Bellevue on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Remembrances may be shared at www.sunsethillsfuneralhome.com
