Glen Crane Larsen passed away at home on February 7, 2026. Glen was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on March 3, 1965. As a youth he enjoyed classic Canadian pastimes: street hockey, downhill skiing, and ice skating. Glen was a great teammate, excelling at both basketball and football. He was imaginative and creative, often building and fixing things with his father.
Glen moved to Rexburg, Idaho in 1983 to attend Ricks College, and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boise, Idaho from 1984-1986. After moving to Provo, Utah, Glen earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University. Glen met Sabrina Sintay at BYU, and they were married in the Cardston, Alberta temple in 1987. They lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for several years before settling in Issaquah, Washington in 1998.
Glen passed on a great love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours camping, hiking, kayaking, and stargazing. Glen had a special appreciation for the vast beauty of mountains and outer space. He climbed several of Washington’s tallest peaks including Mount Rainier in 2008. He taught his children and grandchildren about the planets and stars, and was always up to date on the latest advancements in space travel.
Glen was dedicated to his church congregation, and faithfully served in leadership, youth groups, and family history capacities. He had a great appreciation for music and loved participating in choir. Glen was an example of humility, strength, and service to those around him. When his sweetheart was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, Glen stepped into the role of caregiver without hesitation. He took loving care of Sabrina until her passing in 2022.
In the next few years, Glen would pleasantly surprise his family by dedicating himself to an ice hockey league, as well as figure skating lessons. He shared his excitement and progress on the ice with all around him. Before his passing, Glen endeavored to relearn piano, perfect his fudge recipe, and practice dancing. He celebrated the joys of life whenever possible and wanted to remember everything, even beginning an autobiography. He spent much of his last six months traveling to visit his family, whom he considered his highest priority.
Glen is survived by his children Brian (Amy) Larsen, Kirsten (Ashton) Dyck, Andrew (Taylor) Larsen, Angela Larsen, and Maren (Jacob) Larsen; grandchildren Soren, Katherine, Rocky, Drew, Theo, Maddie, Evie, and Brooklyn; siblings Heather (Anthony) Lowry, Peter (Lisa) Larsen, and Joanne (Judd) Case; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Sabrina; parents Aage and Verna Larsen; and grandson Will.
A viewing will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial (1575 145th PL SE, Bellevue) on Wednesday, February 18 from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (14536 Main St, Bellevue) on Thursday, February 19 at 10am.
