

Jack was born in Seattle, WA to Cecil and Lois Mulliken. He graduated from Highline High School before joining the Navy in World War 2. He became an Aviation Machinist Mate while stationed in Corpus Christi, TX where he met Lillian A. Mulliken. They were married in 1944 and moved to Seattle. After the war, Jack graduated from the University of Washington and began building apartment houses throughout the greater Seattle area. Many were built in the University District and today continue to enjoy a high occupancy. Jack and associates built the world famous Polynesian Restaurant on Seattle’s Pier 51. They built The Mariner in Kirkland and the Westshore Complex on Lake Union. In addition to apartments and restaurants, Jack and associates built clinics, office buildings and even a hangar complex at Boeing Field. Jack loved flying his private airplane. He flew his family on numerous vacations across the United States and Mexico. Jack flew his plane for National Geographic during a whale watching expedition. He enjoyed travel, fishing and golf.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom L. Mulliken. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mulliken and his children, Cathy A. Spalding (Craig) and Bill J. Mulliken (Heidi,) his niece, Cindy (Susan) Mulliken, his nephews, Tim (Judy) and Mike (Joyce) Mulliken, stepdaughters, Colleen Powell and Carol Ansel (Duane,) 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
