Jamshid ("Jimmy") Oskouian passed away peacefully in Sammamish on August 24, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bandar Anzali, Iran on April 12, 1932 to Ali and Massoumeh Oskouian, the sixth of seven children. He was raised by his siblings after the death of his parents at age 3. As a teenager he earned a scholarship to study overseas, leading him to the University of Central Missouri in 1955, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1959 and fell in love with America. After graduation he returned to Iran to accept an executive position with Iran Oil, where he traveled the world representing the company to the global market. In 1967 he met his bride of 54 years, Jamileh Zandian, and it was love at first sight. One of Jamshid's biggest accomplishments was being a father to his daughter Rama and son Rod. The family lived in Tehran until 1980 when they chose to move to the United States during the Iranian Revolution. Despite having to start over professionally, Jamshid had the courage and fortitude to make a great life for his family in Bellevue and considered himself extremely fortunate to raise his children in the United States. Those who knew Jamshid will remember him as an extremely vivacious personality who truly loved everyone, frequently befriending strangers and embracing friends as part of his own family. His eternal optimism and ambitious work ethic was infectious. Jamshid is survived by his beloved wife Jamileh Oskouian, daughter Rama Oskouian (Greg Emens) and son Rod Oskouian (Christen Oskouian), and grandchildren Ava, Arya, Alina, and Gregory. He is also survived by his sister Kosar Malekpour and many nieces and nephews. Donations in his honor may be made to the Seattle Science Foundation to establish an honorary international fellowship position. https://secure.qgiv.com/for/seascifou
