Katharine Elizabeth Owens

Katharine Elizabeth“Dolly” Owens of Anderson Island passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born on May 24, 1934 in Manson, Washington. She grew up mostly in Kirkland, Washington where her parents moved from Chelan during World War II for her father's work at the Houghton Shipyards.

She graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1952, where she first met her husband, Richard. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1983, after being a stay-at-home mother of 7 children. She was very proud of receiving a VA (Veterans Administration) full scholarship in her senior year of college at PLU.

She was actively involved in quilting, genealogy, adventures in Mexico and other exotic places. For Katharine's entire life her devotion to her faith in God has been a guiding force.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Edith Enslow.

Katharine is survived by her husband of 70 years, Richard N. Owens; Brothers, David Enslow (Maryanne) and Dan Enslow (Anna); Children, Kathleen Coleman (Bob), Janine Wylie (Kip), Debora Nilson (Barry), Mary Handley, Richard N. Owens, Jr “Rex” “Tex”, Lisa Jones (John), David Owens; Grandchildren, Erin Moery, Jennifer Schumacher (Peter), Daniel Moery (Brandi), Julie Jones (David), Morgan Moery, Andrew Jones, Jacob Sergi, Michael Jones, Zachary Jones (Catherine), Katrina Malia Owens; And 13 Great-grandchildren, Thomas Taastad, Bailey Friday, Benny Schumacher, Anna Schumacher, Kate Moery, Samuel Moery, Ozzie Jones, Malcolm Jones, Christopher Jones, Lucas Jones, Henry Jones, Theodore Jones, Jordan Calvin Owens

The family would like to thank A Caring Heart AFH and Wesley Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.

Visitation with the family and friends will begin at 12:00PM Friday, January 27 at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA 98007

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Sunset Hills at 1:00PM on. Additionally, there will be provided a virtual attendance link for those who cannot attend in-person.

Interment to follow at Sunset Hills at 2:00PM.
