It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Mallory, who departed from this world at the tender age of twenty-two. Mallory left us on Saturday June 24, 2023, leaving a void in our hearts and lives that can never be filled.
Mallory was born on June 1, 2001, in Kirkland, WA to her mother Tracy Scudder, sister Darrean Scudder and Grandfather Larry Scudder. A bright and promising soul who touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a source of joy and inspiration to her family and friends, and her departure has left an indelible mark on the lives of those who loved her. Mallory is survived by her loving Mother Tracy Scudder, sister Darrean Scudder, her Grandfather Larry Scudder passed away October 31, 2019.
Mallory was a beautiful intelligent young woman. Her enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication were evident in everything she pursued. She had a zest for life, a contagious laugh and endearing smile that lit up any room, and a kindness that knew no bounds. She loved her family, friends and was a kind soul to everyone. Mallory attended Cedarcrest High School, she was an excellent student in school and attended honors classes. Mallory was a varsity cheerleader from eight years old through high school. She received awards in cheer, one for hardest worker, lettering her senior year. She loved kids and always looked forward to the kids cheer camp. In her last four years of cheer, she also took dance classes, hip-hop and ballet. Mallory wanted to work part time starting her junior year. Her first job was at Cold Stone Creamery in Redmond Town Center where she became a shift lead. After High School she started working at Starbucks on Rose Hill in Kirkland, she became a shift supervisor, working toward being a store manager one day. She was planning to attend Arizona State University online though her work at Starbucks.
As a baby and young child Mallory was a momma’s girl, and I loved every minute of it. She was an absolute doll and always happy. Throughout her childhood and adult years, our family enjoyed many trips to Leavenworth and Lake Chelan, our two favorite places. A road trip to Vegas and California Hermosa Beach was fun when she was a teenager, and a trip to Cannon Beach when she was young. She was able to go to Disneyland and Vegas with a high school friend and her family. More recently Arizona with a friend. Mallory and our family were also planning trips to Yellowstone National Park and Maui.
Mallory had an adventurous spirit and a love for exploring the beauty of the world around her. Whether it was through travel, music, or riding her motorcycle, she embraced the richness of life with an open heart. Her presence illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to share in her journey.
In addition to her academic and personal pursuits, Mallory was a cherished daughter, sister, and friend. Her compassion and empathy were apparent in the way she supported and uplifted others during both times of joy and sorrow. Her generosity knew no limits, and she made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
As we mourn the loss of Mallory, let us remember her for the laughter she shared, the love she gave, and the positive energy she brought into our lives. Though her time with us was far too brief, her memory, spirit and love will live on in our hearts forever.
There were two celebrations of life for Mallory. One organized by her coworkers who absolutely loved her. It was at Houghton Beach Park in Kirkland, Washington on July 14, 2023. It was heartwarming to hear everyone tell me how she impacted their lives, and how they all loved to hear Mallory laugh. Mallory’s regular customers also came to celebrate her. Mallory’s employer Starbucks adored her as well, they graciously put up a memorial plaque in the lobby of the store Mallory worked at (Rose Hill Kirkland) to honor her. The second celebration was organized by Mallory’s family at Pine Creek Nursery in Monroe, Washington. It was a picturesque place to celebrate my beloved, beautiful daughter Mallory. Our family set up a cross with Mallory’s picture on it, where we lost our angel. We will honor her every day, we love you forever, Mallory.
May Mallory find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
