My name is Tina Sprinkle Rine.  I was Marilyn’s (and Marla & Craig) favorite babysitter.  Many many years ago. Marilyn was always a good girl. A sweet and tender hearted child and later adult. One of my favorite memories has to do with lunching on fully loaded baked potatoes followed by a well needed nap   Now that’s a wonderful loving and comfortable friendship.  I’ll love you forevermore 😇💕😘

Dear Michael, Alyssa, David and entire extended Harris Family.  Jennifer and I were so moved by yesterday’s celebration and remembrance of Marilyn.  We were blessed to have Michael and Marilyn as neighbors for nearly 15 years. As we heard all your amazing and touching remembrances of Marilyn it resonated with us; as even just as neighbors we experienced her caring, her love, her commitment first hand.  A few images and memories that I will never forget:  1) Marilyn and her guard dog Mimi, who rushed out and barked at us every time we walked by with our dog, Daisy, to make sure we knew where the property line was.  Marilyn would talk and share news with us (she always seemed to know what was going on with everyone on the street), then the dogs would touch noses and we could be on our way. 2) We remember well the kids growing up, moving off to college, getting jobs. Then we noticed the regular return of the cars and kid, as grown kids came eagerly home to visit and celebrate holidays; a testament to us of her caring parenting. 3) Marilyn and Michael on hands and knees or stooped over, with hands and pruning shears and trowels working in the dirt of that masterwork of a yard - the Harris Arboretum!  I remember after we had newly bought our houses and we met as a community “board”, we were discussing how to take care of the Veramonte “common area”,   Marilyn said “we like to garden and we will take care of it if you don’t mind us adding a few plants”. The community agreed, and as I was dropping off some plants and garden soil as our contribution that next week I remember thinking “they will tire of taking care of this yard and we will be having to meet to decide on plan B in a few years”.  Boy was I wrong. Over the years Marilyn and Michael showed us all what commitment to each other and to neighborhood looks like. I will never forget the image of their teamwork and time together outdoors. Thank you for being part of our lives, Marilyn; neighbors forever in our hearts.


Marilyn Harris has been a dear friend to my family for Many years, a shoulder to cry on when I lost my own mother 2 years ago. Marilyn has been a continuous emotional support to me and I will miss her kind, loving words and positive outlook on life. 

Life seems quite without you; you were far more than a good friend -but family, with a loving soul who deeply cared for everyone!  What we shared is unmatched, and memories imbedded into my heart.  
 It will take time to heal - and for the silence to go away.
I can still hear your laughter, and miss you every day.  
You were my "bestie" - dearest friend; loyal and generous throughout the many years we had together.  Love you my friend. See you soon.

The world needs to turn on an extra light to counter the dimness with 
Marilyn being  gone.  My prayers and love to my brother and his children and Marilyn’s immediate family and friends. She was unmatched with her love for her family and friends.  She was a brave and wonderful person and her love, her laugh and her hugs will be missed by all.
