Marilyn Wilkins, born on September 18, 1933, passed away on January 27, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Marilyn was born in New Haven, Connecticut and moved to West Seattle at the age of nine. She graduated from West Seattle High School and attended the University of Washington, where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. That is also where she met and fell in love with John Wilkins. They were married on December 23, 1955 and were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Pam and Colleen. In 1966, they moved into their life long home in Bellevue.
Marilyn dedicated her life to raising her girls. She was involved in Girl Scouting as well as any and all other activities the girls participated in. Painting was her passion and she was a member Northwest Water Color Association. Many of Marilyn’s paintings were featured on Christmas cards that she donated annually, to Children’s Hospital in Seattle. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of fifty eight years, John Wilkins, daughters Pam (Frank) and Colleen, grandchildren Monica and Michael, and her brother, Robert. Marilyn was preceded in death by her grandson Tony, whom we know was waiting to welcome her with open arms.
