Marjorie Lois (Kane) Buchanan

May 4, 1924 – April 5, 2015

Marge (as she was better known) Buchanan of Redmond, WA passed away in her residence at Redmond Heights at the age 90. She was born in Spokane, WA to Anne and Harry Kane. Marge was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert of 48 years.

Marge lived her entire life in WA, starting as a young child in Lake Forest Park, then North Seattle. She attended Lake Forest Park and St Catherine’s Grade Schools, Roosevelt High School, then briefly Washington State University, and lastly Seattle University. She worked as a nursing assistant, where she met the love of her life, our dad. She then proudly became a wife and mother as they raised their family in Wedgewood and Bellevue areas.

Marge was active with various local church groups. She loved playing bridge, was on the women’s league for golf and bowling, enjoyed her many travels in the US and Europe. She was always up for games with the family, but even if it was a penny there was a bet on the table. And she never turned down a trip to the local casino; luck was on her side quite frequently.

She will be missed by her children Debbie Randle, Laura (Dave) True, Jeff (Wendy) Buchanan, Dan (Sandy) Buchanan, Patti Kilburn, and her 13 great and grandchildren. However, we know she is now resting in peace with God and our father/ grandfather, family and friends who preceded her.

A memorial mass is planned for Saturday May 16 at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta in Woodinville at 11am and burial at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue at 2pm.
