Michael Monshyr Tsai

蔡印顯生於1944年5月29日，台灣高雄人。

他受過大學教育，主修機械系。畢業後，他繼承衣缽，經營營造事業，遠洋漁船作業。

生在佛教家庭，他從小耳濡目染，長大後成為虔誠的佛教徒，精進修習佛法，並參與許多公益活動。中年為子女教育一家移民來美，已有四十多年。

蔡印顯是一個嚴謹而不失幽默的人。他一生當中做事認真。生為長子，他對父母孝順，從不違逆。對家庭盡心付出，教導子女有方。對朋友寬厚，誠懇待人。他喜歡運動以及打高爾夫球，也喜歡唱歌。

蔡印顯配偶蔡幸淳，結婚五十年，家庭美滿。他們有三個小孩蔡鴻維、蔡鴻銘、蔡慈玟和六個孫子。晚年退休搬到西雅圖，有機緣投入法鼓山道場，虔誠皈依並受菩薩戒，結了許多善緣。

Michael Tsai, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born on May 29, 1944, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Michael lived a life full of love and dedication to his family and friends.

Michael graduated college with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He took over the family's business in the construction field and in the fishing industry where he traveled around the world. Michael was born into a Buddhist family. His faith as a devoted Buddhist guided him throughout his life, providing him with strength, wisdom, and compassion. He was also a dedicated volunteer, contributing countless hours to community services. Michael and his family immigrated to the U.S. in 1978 to pursue a better education for his children.

Michael was a hardworking and diligent man with a good sense of humor, qualities that were evident in every aspect of his life. As the eldest son, he was a good son who performed his filial duties, always caring deeply for his parents and ensuring their well-being. As a husband and father, Michael was deeply committed to the family and valued his children’s education greatly. He was generous and sincere with his friends. Michael was an avid golfer. He also loved singing and could often be found singing to his grandchildren.

When Michael retired, he moved to Seattle and joined a Buddhist organization, Dharma Drum Mountain. He devoutly received the Bodhisattva precepts and developed good affinities with many Dharma friends.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Angela; their children, Bill, Jeff, and Nelly. He also leaves behind his 6 cherished grandchildren. His legacy of compassion, diligence, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew him.
