Mohsen was born on December 1, 1933, in Tehran. He attended The Military College in Tehran followed by advanced army training at the US Command and General Staff College (CGSC) and the Military Academy. He was proficient in tactical military operations and lead thousands of military personnel under his command. Before his retirement as a colonel, he served assignments spanning a vast geography and socio-economic landscape, where he formed deep friendships lasting a lifetime.
In his work, as well as personal life, he was guided by the Ravanpay clan moral compass based on simplicity, honesty, humility, loyalty, kindness, devotion to family and friends, and the platinum rule. He was a soccer fanatic, playing in youth leagues and later in life watching nearly every televised game. His interest in Basketball and support of the LA Lakers was infectious. He was a passionate Backgammon master, enjoyed a good John Wayne Western, and delighted in all cuisines.
His memory will live through his wife Irene, sons Mehran and Ali, daughters-in-law Charmine and Ellie, grandsons Zachery, Rustine and Matine, local nephews Amir, Ramin, Arman, their families, and many more family members and friends, whose lives have been touched by his kindness.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sunsethillsfuneralhome.com for the Ravanpay family.
