Richard James Oslund of Monroe, Washington passed away peacefully on February 5, 2012 at the age of 87. He was born in Elma, Washington to Gilbert and Nellie Oslund on July 20, 1924. It was in Elma that he was raised and graduated in 1942 from Elma High School.
Richard served in the Navy during WWII as a Medic and was very proud of his service to his country. He worked for the majority of his life as a parts buyer for Boeing where he later retired. In the following years after retirement, Richard and his wife, Doris, enjoyed traveling and golfing.
Dick, as he was called, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Doris, 2 sons, Mark (Kim) Oslund and Steve (Amy) Oslund and 2 grandsons, Gus and Tristan Oslund. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Dracolby.
A private urn placement with military honors was held on February 21, 2012 in the Hillcrest Mausoleum at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue, Washington.
