Wayne Alan Shirk passed away in his Bellevue home on July 14, 2010. Wayne was born June 16, 1958 in Covina California. The youngest son of Frank and LaVerne (deceased), he was a longtime employee of Nintendo, starting while the company was in Tukwila. He joined Nintendo before Mario, Luigi, Zelda, and the Wii and made many friends around the world as he traveled to Japan, Belgium, London, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. His pleasures included listening to and making music with a group originally formed in high school. He loved fishing in the San Juan Islands with friends and on Lake Washington with his daughter Harmony. Music and fishing gave him great pleasure, but being a Dad to Harmony gave him unbridled joy. He will be greatly missed by Hong (Ivy) Ying Long, his longtime partner and mother of his daughter as well as by his brother Frank Shirk, and sisters Carol Johnson and Nancy Legg.
