The family eventually relocated to Seattle, Washington where Wilma attended Franklin High School in Seattle. Wilma participated in the Junior Achievement Program and other scholastic activities.
When Wilma graduated from high school in 1958, she went on to attend the Edison Technical College, where she excelled in Office Management and Secretarial Services. She was also very skilled at playing the piano, which she would often do for family and friends.
Wilma later went to work for the United States Postal Service, where she was employed for over 30 years- all while maintaining her household and raising her 5 children.
Wilma is survived in life by her sisters, Antonia Powell and Barbara Wilson. Children, Victor Smith, Charlotte Smith, Stephen Smith, and William Smith. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Wilma is preceded in death by her mother, Veola Moore and aunt Willie Lee Black. Child, Stephanie Smith (Crocker).
