Kodie Allen Jesus Sanchez was born on September 14th 1993 in the city of Los Alamitos. He was the second child of Kenny & Sheila , brother to Amber and husband to Kimberly. He graduated from Somerset high school & was employed by the law office of Larry H Parker.
Kodie had a family that loved him. Not only his parents but his grandparents & great grandparents. His Tata was his role model. In his Tata’s eyes he could do no wrong even when it came to Kodie scratching a fire mantel he had been working on for weeks. Kodie was a colic baby. It was so bad he even made his mom break her toe trying to run to him in the middle of the night. As a toddler he had a lot of ear infections which resulted to him needing tubes in his ears. His family used to refer to him as their little caveman because he used to talk how everything sounded to him. Kodie was also always very curious, so curious he decided one day to call 911 just to see what would happen. He was very gullible as well. He was once told if he told a lie his mom would be able to see the “L’s” in his eyes. So, there after when he would attempt to lie he would cover his eyes so she couldn’t see.
Anyone that met Kodie or had any type of conversations with him knew he had a strong passion for sports. His love for it started at a young age with wrestling. Yes, we all know it was fake but he just couldn’t get enough of it. His passion for sports grew and he had started to try to play different sports. He played basketball, soccer & little football as well. His true passion however, was baseball. We all knew him as the Raiders, Lakers, Kings & Angels fan. No matter the sport, no matter the team he could carry on a conversation with anyone about sports. He had always been told he should be a sports commentator with all of his knowledge. His parents used to say “Oh you can’t remember to do your homework but you sure know the stats of last nights games.” He even used to fall asleep to sports center every night.
Through out Kodie’s school years he came across many friends. At a young age he met Oscar who turned into more than a friend, he was someone that he looked up to and was like an older brother. Kodie was an easy going kid and got along with just about anyone. He was on the football team for a while & the baseball team at his high school. Kodie and his group of friends were like any teenage boys, they got into their fair share of trouble. Him & his best friend Josh were two peas in a pod. Wherever one was the other wasn’t too far behind.
Music, shoes, tattoos & video games are just a few things that Kodie was known for. His love for music was such a wide range but his favorite was his rap music. Kodie got his first tattoo is 2013 in remembrance of his Tata and from that moment it was like an addiction. Within 4 years he had 2 full sleeves. Some people know Kodie as bigdaddyK. The reason for this was his love for video games, Call Of Duty to be specific. It didn’t matter what you asked Kodie to try he was always open to try different things. He had a unique taste in clothing & shoes. Except when it came it the casual basketball shorts & slides.
In Spring of 2011 little did Kodie know he was gonna meet someone that would change his life forever. His wife. Their very first date was a memorable one, his sister and his friends made it one they would never forget. After their movie date his sister drove to pick him up and had a car full of their friends. They were being loud and screaming funny things as he was trying to get into the car. From that moment forward they were inseparable. In 2013 they moved in together and shortly after he proposed. He took her to the sculpture garden in Cerritos on her birthday got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. They had a long engagement. In the fall of 2017 they became man & wife. It was a beautiful wedding filled with family, friends, laughs, joy and lots of love.
Kodie was a great son, brother, husband and friend. So kind to others and always was there when needed. He was compassionate & loving. Willing to lend a helping hand. There isn’t anyone that met Kodie that doesn’t have some kind of funny story or memory with him. He may be gone but never forgotten. Rest in paradise Kodie Allen Jesus Sanchez.
