Born in Heavener, Oklahoma, on June 16, 1943, Fonda's early life was marked by travel, as her family moved across states such as Michigan and New Mexico, always returning to Arkansas.
In 1962, Fonda met and married the love of her life, James McGarrah. Their marriage took them on a great adventure, including being stationed in Germany during the Cold War. Fonda's adventurous spirit led her to travel overseas alone, and she was known for her fun-loving nature. She devoted her life to raising her daughter and supporting her husband at home.
Fonda is preceded in death by her husband, James McGarrah; her parents, Vada Jackson and Essie Wilson; and her siblings, Raymond Wilson, Lucy Warner, VJ Wilson, Sue Easter, Loretta Martin, and James Wilson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Malania McGarrah Carter and Brad Carter of Garfield, and her brother, Bill Wilson of Rogers.
Fonda had a deep love for music, laughter, and honesty. She was known for her quick opinions and unwavering support for those she loved.
