Marion Thomas

Marion married Denzil R. “Ray” Thomas Sr. on June 6, 1954, and together they raised two sons, Denzil R. Thomas Jr. and Brian Lee Thomas. He preceded her in death in 1996. She later married Francis Oliver in 2003, who preceded her in death, and Don Stevenson in 2012, who also preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert M. Sluder and Alvis Sluder (Gooch); two sisters, Lois Johnson and Jo Davis; and one grandchild, Stacia (Eli) Thomas.

Marion is survived by her sons and their families: Denzil and Judy L. Thomas, and Brian and Chris Thomas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Denzil Thomas III and his wife Amy, and Erin Talbott and her husband Brian, Brittany Parker and her husband Joey, Zachary Thomas and wife Anna. Also surviving are great grand-children Kenny Shumate, Lucas Talbott, Denzil Thomas IV, Halle Thomas, and Cameron Thomas. Her surviving sisters are Wilma Norris and Gwen Taylor Arthurs.

Marion enjoyed swimming and water skiing, loved playing golf, found joy in flower gardening, and was an avid reader. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Rogers, Arkansas.

Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and devotion to the family she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
