

She was born on a small cattle ranch in Konawa, Oklahoma, in April 1934, the daughter of the late Artie and Benjamin Forrest Collins. Barbara had two sisters, Helen and Ailene, and two brothers, Gene and Glen. She moved with her family to Stockton, California in 1943 where her Dad found work in the shipyards. She eventually returned to Oklahoma in the 1950s.
Barbara attended Hair Stylist School in 1958 and became a practicing Hair Dresser for the next 37 years. Barbara met Mr. Jack Hale in 1974, fell in love, and married him. Jack was a local businessman involved in real estate and oil interests. In the late eighties Jack became ill with cancer and, sadly, passed away in 1993.
In 1995, Barbara met and married Mr. Orrid Tucker, moved to Karnack Texas, and helped him run the "Tucker Fishing Camp.” After Orrid's death in 2008, she continued to manage the Camp until her illness was discovered in April of this year. She returned to her family in Oklahoma City and passed away this month.
Barbara was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, husbands Jack Hale and Orrid Tucker, brother Glen C. Collins, and sisters Helen Delaney and Ailene Collins.
Barbara is survived by her brother Gene W Collins, his sons Donald Wayne and Randall Gene, her nephews Glen Charles Collins Jr. and Michael Todd Collins, her niece Suzanne Collins Jones, 5 grand nephews and 8 grand nieces.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Memorial Park Cemetery in
Ada, Oklahoma, on Monday, June 2, at 1:00 PM under the direction of Bill Merritt Funeral Service, Bethany, OK.
