

Following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Bennie Allen left his earthly home on April 12, 2017 in Oklahoma City. Bennie was born to Marshall and Essie Allen on October 6, 1928 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Upon graduation from Lake Valley Schools, Bennie farmed, and built roads and dams in western Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Wilma Jean Jones on August 27, 1950. Bennie worked for many electronic stores in the 1950s and 60s including, Trice, Radio Supply and Miller Jackson. He retired from W.W. Granger in 1985 as one of their most trusted salesmen. Bennie and Wilma joined Portland Avenue Baptist Church in 1956 and were active members until their later years. Bennie was a Deacon for the church. They traveled with friends and enjoyed family time.
Bennie Allen is predeceased by his wife of nearly 66 years, Wilma; his parents, Marshall and Essie Allen; brother, Bob Allen; sister, Ethel Etris; and beloved grandson, Rick Alexander. He is survived by two daughters, Jeanne and husband, John Prince of Oklahoma City, and Debra, and husband Larry Lasater of Blanchard. Three grandsons, Bill Hornbaker, Boston; David and wife, Andrea Ball, Ninnekah; and Marcus and wife, Megan Ball, Dibble; granddaughter, Brandi and husband, Dr. Matt Simpson, of Fort Worth, TX; and eight great-grandchildren. His extended family includes sister, Leola and husband Alvin Schantz of Mustang and brother, Eddie and wife Melvena Allen of Casa Grande, AZ. Bennie was a much-loved member of our family and will be dearly missed by family and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Portland Avenue Baptist Church with a private burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
