

Betty B. Drehmer,92,departed this life on December 8, 2014. She was born March 14, 1922 to Henry and Ora Belle Tolles in Arkansas City, Kansas. She was married to Ed Drehmer on June 5, 1942 in Arkansas City. The family moved to Bethany, Oklahoma in 1965. Betty was a devoted wife and mother, an immaculate housekeeper, and an excellent cook. Her chocolate chip cookies are legendary! She raised three wonderful daughters- Nancy Mehl of Kansas City, Missouri; Susan Hiatt (Bob) of Kansas City, Missouri; and Diane Nickel (Stan) of Oklahoma City, OK. Betty is survived by one sister, Pat Densmore of Los Altos, California, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Ed, her husband of 65 years and her grandson Kyle.
Betty was an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church, serving as President of the Altar Guild, teaching Sunday school, and cooking Mobile Meals. She gave over 2,000 volunteer hours to Bethany Hospital. Betty and Ed enjoyed many trips across the United States, often travelling with friends or relatives. One of their favorite trips was to Germany to meet their first grandchild. Betty loved playing bridge and participated in numerous foursomes over the years, She was also an excellent speller and would on occasion call businesses to let them know their signs were misspelled. She had a quick wit and a caring, considerate heart. A memorial service will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 13112 N Rockwell Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at 11:00am on Friday, December 12.
