Dorothy J. Phillips

July 24, 1923 – September 6, 2013

Dorothy Jane Phillips of Oklahoma City passed away September 6, 2013 at the age of 90. Dorothy had been an active member of Putnam City United Methodist Church for the past 50 years and took great joy in it. She was never the person that wanted to slow down so after leaving the clerical work force she volunteered for many years at Baptist Hospital. She loved nothing more then family parties and holidays and outings with her friends, as well as her college football on Saturdays. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Dave Cooter, her husband Dub Phillips, and her granddaughter Kelly Kight. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Debra and Michael Kight, her grandchildren, Michael Kight Jr., Courtney Shelton, Jason Cox, Zac and Emily Shelton and their children Jacob and Abigail Shelton, along with many close friends and her beloved dog Max. She will be greatly missed by many. The Funeral will be at Putnam City United Methodist Church Tuesday September 10th at 10:00 AM. Located at 5819 NW 41st, Warr Acres, OK. There will be a viewing on Monday September 9th from 2pm-8pm at the Bill Merritt Funeral home at 6201 NW 39th St, Bethany, OK 73008.
