Eleanor Edith Beck went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2023 at her home in Oklahoma City at the age of 98 surrounded by her loving family. Eleanor was born January 25, 1925 in Lake Providence, LA to John Henry and Lois Marget (Miley) Hutson. She married the love of her life, Rex in 1946. She was a long time resident of Oklahoma City and a 30+ year member of Peniel Baptist Church. She was a Nurse’s Aide at The Children’s Center in Bethany and retired on December 31, 1986. Eleanor was an avid gardener who loved growing roses. She enjoyed western movies and listening to gospel music, in particular Jimmy Swaggart. She also really loved rocking babies and it didn’t matter who they belonged to.
Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was devoted to her family and friends with a very strong faith, and always with a helping hand. She will be missed by the many hearts that she touched
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rex Beck, and daughter, Rexie Ann Beck. She leaves behind 2 children, John Beck of Oklahoma City and Delouise and husband, Dennis Brownen of Yukon, Oklahoma, 12 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A visitation for Eleanor will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Interment will be in Chismville, AR at Landmark Cemetery at 4:00 pm.
