Elizabeth Ann Parr

Elizabeth “Liz” Parr, 77 of OKC took her Angel flight to Heaven on Nov 4, 2014 and is now in the arms of her Lord, free from the pain of Pancreatic Cancer. Liz was born July 14, 1937 in Oklahoma City to Chris and Helen Wilson. She attended Oklahoma City schools and graduated from NW Classen. Liz married the love of her life, Cody Parr, September 5, 1957 and from that union received the other love of her life, a baby boy. Liz has lived in Oklahoma City all of her life and was corporate secretary/treasurer of Parr Automotive Inc. She worked side by side with her husband until her retirement. Elizabeth was the recipient of many national awards and recognitions during her time with the company. She never met a stranger and her travels with the company allowed her to have multitude of friends over the US.

Liz was a Christian and a faithful member of West Tenth Street Baptist Church for over 57 years where she served in many areas of the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Cody Parr of the home; son Steven Parr; grandson Craig Parr of OKC and sister-in-law Denise Parr of Bethany; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her beloved grandson Craig, calls Liz “GG” and Denise has always called her “Lizzie.” Liz enjoyed Gospel hymns and especially Beulah Land. It was not only her favorite hymn but now her “New Home.”

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th from 12-8 pm at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. A celebration of her life will be Friday, November 7th at 2 pm at the Bill Merritt Funeral Service Chapel with interment to follow at Spring Creek Memorial Cemetery.
