Ella M. Rowell

Ella M. Rowell passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born to Thomas and Teresa Selvidge on November 1, 1926 in Amarillo, TX. Ella moved to Oklahoma City as a child to live with her grandparents. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. Ella married James L. Rowell on March 23, 1946 in Oklahoma City. They were blessed with three children, Stanley, Bradley and Rebecca. Ella worked as a sales person for many years and later as a Realtor. Ella enjoyed playing Bridge. She and James traveled to many different countries and throughout the United States during their life together. Ella was a long time member of Putman City Baptist Church. For the past few years she was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Ella is survived by the love of her life, James, their children, Stan (Becky Sue) Rowell, Brad (Sue) Rowell and Becky (Mark) Voth. She had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her grandson Jason Witcher. Private graveside services will be held on Tuesday morning, July 30. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Ella’s life at Westminster Presbyterian Chapel on Tuesday, July 30 at 2 p.m. at 4400 N Shartel Ave., Oklahoma City. The family would like to thank Dawn with Platinum Home Health Care and Sooner Hospice of OKC for their loving and compassionate care during Ella’s last days.
